Welcome to the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce
Our mission is to serve our community by supporting and enhancing the unique quality of life and commerce that defines
the Des Moines West Side.
Our membership and event planning is off to a great start for 2016.
Keep watching our website under Chamber Events for all the upcoming scheduled events - Wake Up West Sides, Business After Hours, Lunch and Learns, Regional Metro Government Relations Coffees and the always fun and exciting Ribbon Cuttings showcasing our Des Moines West Side Chamber members businesses.
We had a fun evening at our Annual Victory Celebration for a "West Side Experience" along with award presentations for Ambassador of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year and the Soozie McBroom ServiceAward (ALL NOTED BELOW).
Several of our members set up booths to share the services they have to offer. We had chair massages, boxed "BOB", spinning chocolate wheel, stress relieve analysis, vinegar and oil tasting, flaming donuts, mac and cheese bar, and burrito bar.
The Des Moines Community Playhouse was a wonderful host and what a beautiful venue. We also had a group of Roosevelt High School students provide music during the networking time.
We were visited by ACE, the Iowa Barnstormers mascot and Griff, Drake's very friendly mascot.

Substantial investments have been made in the renaissance of the various cultural and business centers including the Ingersoll corridor, Roosevelt shopping district and the Drake area which attract customers from all over the greater Des Moines area and tourists visiting our city - also the Beaverdale shopping area and the Merle Hay Mall with reinvestment and renovations. Not only local, but also WEST SIDE!
The vision for the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce is to provide services such as:
An important issue passed by the legislature this year is the Home Base Iowa Act proposed by Governor Terry Branstad. "Through their service, veterans have already proven they share the values we hold dear as Iowans - hard work, leadership, and patriotism, among others. Home Base Iowa allows veterans to find the right job for them in Iowa, and to become a part of our communities". Iowa Workforce Development is helping in this effort.
