Welcome to the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce
Our mission is to serve our community by supporting and enhancing the unique quality of life and commerce that defines the Des Moines West Side.
On August 29, 2015 from 4:00pm - 11:00pm, one of the big events of the year, INGERSOLL LIVE, was enjoyed by one of the biggest crowds ever. We had live music with six bands on two stages, booths of area businesses "showing off" their products, three bouncy houses for the kids and LOTS of great food to enjoy from vendors in the Ingersoll corridor. Thanks to everyone that stopped by the Des Moines West Side Chamber booth to say hi!
Then in September we will be participating in the annual Beaverdale Fall Festival parade, September 19, 10:00am, followed by a Ribbon Cutting at 1:30pm at Beaver Avenue and Urbandale Avenue to showcase the new Beaverdale Streetscape. Come see us as we make our way east on Franklin Avenue and north on Beaver Avenue. Stay awhile and visit the Beaverdale businesses for their special celebration!
Keep watching our website under Chamber Events for all the upcoming Chamber events - Wake Up West Sides, Business After Hours, Lunch and Learns, Regional Metro Government Relations Coffees and the always fun and exciting Ribbon Cuttings showcasing our Des Moines West Side Chamber members.
We'll have our annual World Food Prize event at Terrace Hill again this year on October 15, 7:30am - 9:00am.
Something new this Fall is a joint event on October 22nd at the Des Moines Community Playhouse, 5:30pm - 7:00pm with the Young Professionals Connection. We have a super panel selected to discuss their successes in business ownership.
We also promote the events sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Lots going on in preparation for the upcoming caucuses. All the presidential candidates have been invited to speak in a Q & A session and we've had four scheduled with more to come. Welcome to Iowa!

NOT Not only local, but also WEST SIDE!
The vision for the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce is to provide services such as:
An important issue passed by the legislature this year is the Home Base Iowa Act proposed by Governor Terry Branstad. "Through their service, veterans have already proven they share the values we hold dear as Iowans - hard work, leadership, and patriotism, among others. Home Base Iowa allows veterans to find the right job for them in Iowa, and to become a part of our communities". Iowa Workforce Development is helping in this effort.
