Welcome to the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce
Our mission is to serve our community by supporting and enhancing the unique quality of life and commerce that defines the Des Moines West Side.
We have an important and exciting announcement to make!
As of July 1, 2015, we have a new office address and phone numbers. We have been sharing office space with the other two Metro chambers in the RDG building downtown for several years but we now have a "home" of our own.
Our new address is 558 - 28th Street, Des Moines, IA 50312
Our new phone numbers are (515)238-2913 or (515)205-2913. Be sure to change in your phones contact list.
This is another step in the "growth" of the Des Moines West Side Chamber.
With summer just about done we've lots of special events going on. In June we had our annual Summer Porch Sipper, annual Greater Des Moines Partnership night at the Iowa Cubs, several ribbon cuttings and lots of new members to welcome into our Chamber. In July we had lots and lots of Jazz July events in the West Side footprint, several member events and again welcome more new members into our Chamber. We also added a new dimension to the West Side Chamber by acquiring an office space all our own. We love our new space, stop by and see us. August has started off with lots of events being planned for the fall season. We can't forget the Iowa State Fair with much to see and do (eating being one). We visited Roosevelt High School for a very enlightening Wake Up West Side presentation by Principal Kevin Biggs and tour of the beautiful building.
Then on August 29, 2015 from 4:00pm - 11:00pm, the event we wait for all year, INGERSOLL LIVE. Between 28th and 29th on Ingersoll Avenue, you'll find live music throughout the event, booths of area businesses "showing off" their products, bouncy houses for the kids and LOTS of great food to enjoy from vendors in the Ingersoll corridor. Don't forget to stop by the Des Moines West Side Chamber booth. We'll be there to meet and greet and will have lots of promotional items to give away from our WONDERFUL West Side Chamber members.
If that's not enough fun, in September we will be participating in the annual Beaverdale Fall Festival parade, September 19, 10:00am. Come see us as we make our way east on Franklin Avenue and north on Beaverdale Avenue. We've have lots of candy to give aways along the route. Stay awhile and visit the Beaverdale businesses for their special celebration!
Keep watching our website for the upcoming Chamber events - Wake Up West Sides, Business After Hours, Lunch and Learns, Government Relations Coffees and the always fun and exciting Ribbon Cuttings showcasing our Des Moines West Side Chamber members. We also promote the events sponsored by the Greater Des Moines Partnership. Lots going on in preparation for the upcoming caucuses.

NOT Not only local, but also WEST SIDE!
The vision for the Des Moines West Side Chamber of Commerce is to provide services such as:
An important issue passed by the legislature this year is the Home Base Iowa Act proposed by Governor Terry Branstad. "Through their service, veterans have already proven they share the values we hold dear as Iowans - hard work, leadership, and patriotism, among others. Home Base Iowa allows veterans to find the right job for them in Iowa, and to become a part of our communities". Iowa Workforce Development is helping in this effort.
